50 followers? Seriously?!?

I cannot believe it!! I haven't been paying much attention the last few days but I jumped from 25 to 50 followers in the last week. I know it's not a lot compared to some of you, but it's REALLY exciting for me. I just started my blog at the end of April and I can't believe how fast it has grown and how much I have enjoyed posting and reading other blogs!

Starting a this blog was truly one of the best things I have ever done. Not only have I "met" wonderful teachers and gotten fabulous ideas for my classroom...but I have this new sense of motivation to do even more than I was before...it has me EXCITED to start back to school in August and put all of these great ideas to use.

To thank all of my lovely followers (current and future) I wanted to hold a little contest. It is my first one ever so go easy on me...and any suggestions are welcome. The winner (selected by Rafflecopter) will receive a $20 gift card to Amazon!

The contest will be open until July 4th...Good luck to everyone who enters!

  1. Congrats on 50 followers!! I am already a follower. It's hard to pick one favorite teaching moment. I was teaching math last year & I made a comment about how my students were so ready for 2nd grade & they all chimed in & said they didn't want to go, because they didn't want to leave me. It made me feel warm fuzzies inside! :)

  2. Congrats!! It's so exciting to open your blog and see that the number has jumped! I can't think of just one favorite teaching moment! I do love it when I see students out in public that I had years ago and they take the time to tell me how much they enjoyed my class.

  3. I've already been a follower for a few weeks. I love finding 3rd grade blogs. I think my favorite moment (in my short 2 years of teaching) was on the 1st day of my first year teaching 3rd grade when I realized my students could already ready the direction on their morning work and could write more than 1 sentence without wanting to cry. Independence is a wonderful thing! :-)

  6. Congrats on reaching 50 followers. I am already a follower. My favorite moment thus far in teaching has been when I had some littles tell me they didn't want to move up to second because they didn't want to leave me. I was almost in tears over that one. It showed me they actually like me :)

  7. I'm a new follower! =) My favorite part of this last school year was having a sub volunteer to return while I was out sick because she said that my students were so well behaved! That was just the best thing to hear ... that my students behaved for a substitute! =) (I had 40 students!)

  10. Great blog! I had a particularly difficult student this past year. We were ready to send him to an alternative school for behavior students. We started a sensory diet with him and things truly turned around for him. Made my year!!

  11. I'm already a follower. I think my favorite teaching moment was the last day of school. We had a seriously sweet class meeting where all the kids shared their favorite moments of the last three years (i've been their teacher for those three years) They had the most thoughtful responses. I'm going to miss those kiddos.

  12. My favorite teaching moment has to be the notes and pictures I recieve from students. ONe of my personal favs was A get well card that had a picture of me back at school (stick figure) that I still have hanging on the inside of a cabinet door for a good laugh when I need one! You can see a picture of it here :

  14. My favorite moment in teaching was when I had several very active boys in class constantly being called on by me. But on Valentine's Day, they all gave such wonderful flowers and candy! It was too sweet!

  15. I haven't started teaching yet, but in my internship, my favorite thing was being able to see how much my students grew from the day I met them to the day I left! I loved seeing how much more they could read, spell, how much better their handwriting got, and so forth.

    Cute blog :] I'm a new follower!

  19. My favorite teaching moment was this year. One of my students asked if I was going to cry on the last day of school. I said no way, I'd be jumping for joy. Guess who cried? (And I am not a sappy, sentimental girl!)

  28. I have been an on/off blogger for awhile, but I just started my own teacher blog last week, and I'm your new follower. Probably one of my favorite moments in teaching so far was my 1st year. One of my students brought me an old raggedy bunny that was dirty and looked well loved and she told me she wanted me to have it. I asked her if she was sure, and she told me it was a gift her mom had given to her before she died. She said her aunt told her it was time to let go of some things :(. I asked her again if she was sure, with tears in my eyes, and she said she wanted me to have it. I told her I would have her bunny if she ever wanted it back. I still have her bunny, in the same condition she gave it to me, and I keep it on my desk as a reminder that what I do everyday is making a difference to someone.
